Many people think it is inhumane to spay and neuter pets since it is natural for them to seek to reproduce. However, there are already so many animals in need of homes and medical attention in our world and rescue organizations consider it a mercy to spay and neuter pets if you do not intend to breed them. Even if breeding your pet, it is important to consider the ramifications of breeding. Is your breed in high demand? Or, are you just so enamored of your breed that you think everyone else is, too? Every rescue group that has been rescuing for a length of time can tell you stories of finding whole litters in need of rescuing. Even expensive breeds are sometimes abandoned if the litter is not selling fast enough or the litter was not planned or if the breeder’s animal was inadvertently impregnated by another breed. Please don’t contribute to animal over-population. Unless you are breeding and have educated yourself on the ramifications of breeding, spaying and neutering helps reduce the possibility your pet could get loose and contribute to animal over-population. If you cannot afford to take your pet to a clinic for spaying or neutering or for rabies vaccinations, there are rabies and spaying and neutering fairs taking place regularly of which you can take advantage. These fairs often offer reduced fees and are comprised of shelters or veterinarians who consider it their duty to assist in decreasing animal population and the occurrence of rabies. Check ARGNC.com’s calendar for upcoming fairs and clinics and also feel free to notify ARGNC.com of any events not posted.*Calendar coming soon*Angier Carolina Mobile Low Cost Spay Neuter Mebane Nicks Road Veterinary Clinic 6311-A Nicks Road Mebane, NC 27302 (919) 304-2337 Pittsboro Chatham Animal Rescue & Education, Inc.
